Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Blackscape Ltd collects through this website, why, and the rights you have over it. It covers blackscape.co.uk only. Nimbus Earth, our product, has its own privacy policy at agriculture.nimbusearth.com.
1. Who we are
The data controller responsible for your personal data is Blackscape Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17474747. Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.

2. What data we collect
You can browse this website without giving us any personal data. We only collect it when you send us a message through the contact form.

We do not collect special-category data, and we do not use your data for advertising or sell it to anyone.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and deal with any follow-up. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), or, where you are asking about working with us, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the contact form secure and working, including rate limiting and spam prevention. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We will not add you to a mailing list because you used the contact form.
4. Who processes your data
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run this website:

5. Where your data is stored (international transfers)
Enquiries are stored in Google data centres in the United States, and Resend processes them in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: automatically deleted from our database 24 months after we receive them. Copies of the email notification in our inbox are deleted on the same basis.
- Spam-prevention counters: automatically deleted once the rate-limit window has passed, which is at most one hour, normally within a day of that.
- Backups: our database is backed up daily, and each backup is automatically deleted after 30 days.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, and erase your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email simon@blackscape.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
8. Cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or any other tracking. Its fonts are served from our own domain, so loading the site does not send your data to third-party font or advertising services.
9. Links to other websites
This website links to other sites, including Nimbus Earth. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
10. Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed at children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
